Dont Let The Smokey Mountain Smoke Get In Your Eyes is a formerly unidentified cover of Osborne Brothers' song of the same name by Virginian band The Bluegrass Edition, released in the late 1970s or early 1980s on the album "1st Edition".
The song originates from a cassette labelled as "Bluegrass Edition" and it was previously considered to be performed by a band named Bluegrass due to the labelled title. When getting solved, it was determined to have referred to the actual band name.

"I found this mystery artist on a dirty cassette tape at a Goodwill with only the handwritten label "Bluegrass Edition." Side A is a clone of Hard Times - Dixie Holiday, an obscure bluegrass band. Oddly enough, the tape in the case was Radioshack brand, not Ampex like the case."

Lyrics[]
Don’t let Smokey mountain smoke get in your eyes
If you do I’m tellin’ you
You’ll wan’t to live there the rest of your life
If Smokey mountain smoke gets in your eyes
If you’re looking for a place you will love
Smokey mountain Cherokee
The closest place to Heaven that I know of
Smokey mountain Tennessee
Gattlinburg precious jewel the mountain treasure
Smokey mountain paradise
You’ll want to live in the smokies forever
If Smokey mountain smoke gets in your eyes
