The song was first posted to YouTube on November 12th, 2020, by user Fernando Roque[1]. He said it was recorded off of an online radio station on the same day.
Later that day, Fernando reposted the song to the r/music and r/tipofmytongue subreddits. In the comments, he said:
“No, actually I can't remeber which radio station I was listening to. It was 3 AM and I had a radio station turned on in the background while I was playing a game on my phone. I heard the song, but I didn't want to leave the game so I just turned on Xrecorder for a few seconds. I thought i would search for it before I went to bed, but in the morning I couldn't find it. I tried Shazam and even writing the lyrics to search on Google, but nothing. I don't even know which radio station cause I have so many on my S10+ side menu. Sorry, I which I knew. 🤷🏻♂️”[2]
When asked where he was from, the OP said he was from the US[3], specifically Southern Texas, but it’s possible that the artist isn’t Texan.
When asked about the station the song was recorded from, he said he didn’t remember it, but he listed online radio stations that he listened to a lot.

Days later, on November 16th, a Discord channel dedicated to identifying the song on the Fond my Mind Discord server was created. As of 2025, this song is the oldest unsolved channel in the server.
He also posted the song to the r/kpophelp subreddit after people suggested him to, asking who made it, but the mods deleted due to them not considering it to be a kpop song.[5]

Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as JayKay[6], Lostwavefinder, Q, No Background, Twenty6, Ofrix, S2h, AlianTheObscure, and multiple others, amssing over 20k views.
In 2025, the song's FMM channel was promoted in the "Main Unknowns" category, after I'll Give You Life was demoted to the "Other Unknown Songs (1)" category.
On October 20th, 2025, the song's FMM channel was demoted to the "Other Unknown Songs (3)" category along with eight others following the category's creation.
