Dark Angels (formerly known as Dark Places) is a formerly unidentified italo-disco, hi-NRG, EBM, and synthwave/darkwave song by Swedish musician Kryptho (real name Christian Dyhre), released as a single in 2005.

The song was posted to Polish song identification website Rozpoznajemy on June 13th, 2020, by user Kubek9871. They didn’t provide any information about where the song came from, but it was theorized to be from the 1980s.
On March 8th, 2023, the OP came back and said they recorded it off of a radio station and didn’t have a longer snippet, but they didn’t say which radio station it was.
A month later, they said song was recorded off of Polish radio station TOP80, which mostly played Italodisco and eurodisco music from the 1980s.
On June 9th, 2023, YouTube user Anon0122 reuploaded the song on his channel. In the comments, user JustYourAverageMusicListener theorized that the song wasn’t from the 1980s, but was instead more recent.
On August 4th, 2023, the song was identified by Discord user Wilamaxin as Dark Angels by Kryptho, presumably after finding an upload of it on YouTube after searching for songs with the title “Dark Angels”.

Kryptho[]
Kryptho (real name Christian Dyhre) was a ska, dub, synthwave, italodisco, and and EBM musician from Gothenburg, Sweden.
He was the guitarist of Swedish ska band USCB Allstars from 1998-2006.
In 2000, he released his first and only single under the name Gorilla Dub Foundation, John Doe, with two versions.

In 2005, he released his first single under the name Kryptho, this song.
In 2006, he was credited as the guitarist for Governor Andy’s album Som Salomos Sång.
On January 22nd, 2012, he uploaded five songs to the Kryptho YouTube channel.

In 2014, he announced that he was going to make a Swedish electropop album the following year, but it hasn’t released yet.
He doesn’t seem to be active today.
