Search History[]

2010s[]

The song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm on August 23rd, 2012 along with multiple other unknown songs. He didn’t provide any information about the songs.

The song was reposted to WatZatSong on April 8th, 2013, by Nathank, having sourced it from Guglielm's post on the NWO forums.

On April 20th, 2013, Guglielm commented on the WFMU.org page for a playlist made by user Bob Brainen, saying the songs were recorded sometime between 1981-1984 or 1991-1993 off of WFMU.

Guglielm himself reposted the song to WatZatSong on July 11th, 2013, without providing any additional information about it.

On September 7th, 2014, Guglielm reposted the song to WatZatSong again, saying the title was possibly “Striptease”. It was theorized to be released a demo or released on cassette instead of vinyl.

2020s[]

On March 26th, 2023, Guglielm confirmed that he digitized all of his cassette tapes with the songs on them in the early 90s, and no longer had any of them anymore.

On December 6th, 2024, another song by the same OP was identified as Bombs In The Tundra by Pleasure Hounds. It was identified when Discord users Rocketballboi and aidnic found a Facebook post by WFMU DJ Pat Duncan, which included an image of a 1983 tracklist. On the same tracklist, there was a song called Cryptease by Whorelords.

No audio of the song existed online, but the timeframe, genre, country, and the song being released on cassette match up with the song, and the singer’s voice sounds similar. The lead singer was murdered in the 90s, but other members of the band were contacted and did not respond.

On April 16th, 2025, the song was fully identified by Discord users WeatherApp240, RojoCatto, Chrisxm, and LWFW user SodaRev as Cryptease by Whorelords after SodaRev messaged Chrisxm on Discogs and they confirmed it was the same song.

Approximate lyrics[]

One two one two three four

That gold dress looks pretty good
Lead your body into the woods
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
I [felt release] while my heart turns rust

You shouldn't have been such a pricktease
And until you end up a cryptease
Cryptease, cryptease, cryptease, cryptease

Now you’re lying cold and gray
The doctor says I’ll be here for stay
He said I was vicious
He said I was sick
When I think of killing you bitch
It gets hard to quit

You shouldn't have been such a pricktease
And until you end up a cryptease
Cryptease, cryptease, cryptease, cryptease
You filthy little slut

I can’t stand it without you, dear
And you’re buried, without your head
Knock out the nurse, grab the key
Stood by your side I will be

You shouldn't have been such a pricktease
And until you end up a cryptease
Cryptease, cryptease, cryptease, cryptease

Ya filthy little slut
Dig straight down into the grave
To the part of you I’ll always claim
Your limbs toward heaven
Your body’s in hell
I’m in the mood for a [strip shot]
A [strip shot] in hell

You shouldn't have been such a pricktease
And until you end up a cryptease
Cryptease, cryptease, cryptease, cryptease

Whorelords[]

Whorelords was a hardcore punk band from New York, USA.

The initial lineup consisted of members Bobby Snotz (real name Robert Stotts) (vocals), Tarik Sabre (real name Tarik Shapli) (guitar), Tom Giacinto (bass), and Greg Barrington (drums).

The band was formed in 1978 by Bobby and Tarik. They performed live several times.

During the live shows, they had a group of “Whorettes”, consisting of Charlotte Harlotte, Diedre, Carry Hamilton, and Rachel Rage, who did background vocals.

In September of 1979, Whorelords reunion show took place when Bobby Snotz showed up and replaced Hell Sent's singer Kate K-Mart to perform a set of Whorelords songs.

In 1982, after spending some time in prison, Bobby reformed the band.

On March 27th, 1983, they performed live at Great Gildersleeves in NYC, playing two songs.

  • Asian White
  • Sonic Reducer

In 1983, they made their first release, The Sociopath E.P., which included this song and two songs by No Control, another punk band from New York. The lineup for the album consisted of members Bobby Snotz, Mike DeSana/Tom Fergus (bass), Pete Marshall (guitar) and Joey Image (real name Joey Poole)

Shortly after, the band disbanded.

In 1992, Bobby passed away after he was beaten to death for being a Nazi. It’s unknown if the person who killed him was caught.

On August 25th, 2015, five copies of a test pressing for a self-titled album were made, which also included this song, but it was never released due to conflicts over the quality of the recordings.
