A copyright troll is a party (person or company) that enforces copyrights it owns for purposes of making money through strategic litigation, in a manner considered unduly aggressive or opportunistic, sometimes without producing or licensing the works it owns for paid distribution.
On the context of Lostwave, there have been many copyright trolls that copyright unidentified songs as theirs so they can monetize the use of that song, even when they did not make the song in question. This is sadly quite easy to do with Lostwave since there are no authors associated with those songs and things like YouTube copyright system can be easily tricked.
This also can screw with popular song identifiers, like Shazam, since those programs search for songs with copyright in their archives, and those copyright trolled song can pop up on those searches.
