The song was first posted to WatZatSong on April 25th, 2015 by user TipoDual. He didn’t provide any information about where he got the song from, but he provided the full version.
On December 23rd, 2016, TipoDual reposted the song to YouTube. But he still didn’t provide any information about any of the songs he posted but gave this one the placeholder name “What Do You Want From Me”.
In 2021, TipoDual came back and said the song originated from a USB flash drive made in August of 2014 of songs that played in a KFC restaurant in Moscow, Russia, the USB included multiple other unidentified songs.
After more of the songs in the playlist were identified, it was discovered that every song in the playlist had been licensed from MP3.com via the site's "Business Music Service" program and were from ~1999-2003.
On November 11th, 2023, the song was identified by Discord user Isle7 as Confrontation by Mr. Red, presumably after finding it on an archived MP3.com page and finding audio of the version released on Red’s 2002 album.
Lyrics[]
No, no
Yeah whatever you know, I’m bouta do this
I’m going out with my boys tonight
You know what I’m saying, I ain’t tryna hear that
Going out with my boys tonight
Whatchu mean you’re going out again tonight?
[?] you know what, the situation just ain’t even right
Oh baby can’t you see, this love is stressing me
You’re bugging constantly, tell me what do you want from me
You’re with your boys all night, and baby that ain’t right
It’s either them or me, and that’s just how it be
What I know, what I need, constantly, patiently
Cause I can’t trust you baby
Hanging out in the crowd, with my friends, getting blazed
But I come home to you lady
Oh baby can’t you see, this love is stressing me
You’re bugging constantly, tell me what do you want from me, what do you want from me
You’re with your boys all night, and baby that ain’t right
It’s either them or me, and that’s just how it be
Come on girl, I don’t know that chick you are pointing out
What you lookin’ at her for?
So she looked at me and then I smiled
But that don’t mean we been hanging out
Baby don’t tell me you don’t believe in me
Oh baby can’t you see, baby
This love is stressing me, girl you’re stressing me
You’re bugging constantly, bugging constantly
Tell me what do you want from me, oh yeah
You’re with your boys all night, and baby that ain’t right
It’s either them or me, and that’s just how it be
I don’t know why you have to trip
I don’t know why you don’t trust me
I can’t see how you said I lied
Cause all I ever did was try
I won’t stick around and play no games
Cause our love simply ain’t the same
I know you’re thinking I stray
Baby I would never do you that way
You have to tell me to hush, the situation we must discuss
It’s not that the trust ain’t there, come on baby
But I just don’t, um, think it’s fair you’re leaving your wifey here
Without a care, and I dare you call your crew, no need for them to make excuses for you
Who, me?
Yeah you
All you [?] you need a find what you wanna be
Tell me what you wanna do, be in your crew, I gets lonely too
Oh baby can’t you see, baby
This love is stressing me, girl you’re stressing me
You’re bugging constantly, bugging constantly
Tell me what do you want from me, what do you want from me baby?
You’re with your boys all night, and baby that ain’t right
It’s either them or me, and that’s just how it be
(Who’s that girl you’re looking at?)
(Whatever, I don’t even know the girl, you know what I’m saying, she’s just checking me out, you know what I’m saying)
(Every time you go out with those guys, you know what I’m saying, you’re tripping)
(Jealous, jealous, everything I do you got something to say about it)
(Always, nah, nah, nah, I look at that [?])
(I’m going out with my boys, you gotta make a decision)
Oh baby can’t you see, this love is stressing me
You’re bugging constantly, tell me what do you want from me, what do you want from me
You’re with your boys all night, and baby that ain’t right
It’s either them or me, and that’s just how it be
