Search History[]

On November 27th, 2021, user Most Mysterious 90s posted an eight second snippet of the song to YouTube, giving it the placeholder name "Tuesday and again on Friday". The video's description said:

“Recorded off KBOO in Portland, OR about 1993-1994. As always, this is all I have of it".

The OP gave an explanation for why the snippets he recorded were so short, saying in his channel’s bio:

“In the first half of the 90s, I used to record tapes from the radio which consisted of mostly incomplete songs, usually very short snippets. I think the idea was to make a sort of weird radio sound-collage, and to create an audio snapshot of what was on the radio at the time, and to fit hundreds of songs onto a 60- or 90-minute tape.”

On December 11th, 2022, with some help from the Audiggle program, a music identification program similar to Shazam, Most Mysterious 90s himself identified the song as "Collage Song" by the band Cher U.K.

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1]
Put on your makeup and
Walk on your campus and
You fill your head with some terms
You test your skills day in
Up with a pill it's a
High of cost of living to learn

[Chorus]
The college song is five years long
It's the only song that you know
College song through the eyes of a bong
"Was that R.E.M. or P.I.L.?"

[Verse 2]
I met you Tuesday and
Again on Friday and
I got a herpe yeah
It hurt me bad
It was a red one and
And now I'm bleeding but
You know that you were the best fuck I ever had

[Chorus]
The college song is five years long
It's the only song that you know
College song through the eyes of a bong
"Was that R.E.M. or P.I.L.?"
Woah!

[Verse 1]
Put on your makeup and
Walk on your campus and
You fill your head with some terms
You test your skills day in
Up with a pill it's a
High of cost of living to learn

[Chorus]
The college song is five years long
It's the only song that you know
College song through the eyes of a bong
"Was that R.E.M. or P.I.L.?
Or REO? I don't know!"

The band started as Cher, but they had to change their name because of the other Cher.

The band put out their first release Boy Named Sue Me in 1991. Here is a song from the album. (NSFW lyrics).

By 1992, they changed their name to Cher U.K. and had some lineup changes.

The second lineup consisted of: Mike McCoy (guitar and vocals), Heather Grehan (bass) and Lisa McKenzie (drums). This lineup lasted from 1992-1994.

In 1997, the fourth lineup change. This lineup consisted of: Mike McCoy (guitar and vocals), Mark Reynolds (bass, from the previous one), and Ed Przychodzki (drums). This lineup lasted from 1996-1997.

With this lineup, the trio released the album Texas Vacation in 1997.
