Cloud Nine is a funk lostwave hoax. The song was made by Lyon Funk community member Findi and his friends on 2023. The song would be identified to be a hoax, discovered by user Rayzox, on February 8th, 2025.

The song was first posted to YouTube by user Findi TheFunk 69 on March 26th, 2023. The song seemed to have come from the Lyon Funk community. The beginning of the song sampled the French dub of the movie Scarface. Multiple users theorized that the singer of this song was the same female singer as Machine.
Multiple users in the Lyon Funk community reposted it to YouTube credited as "The Night Passions - Cloud Nine" from ~1987. No evidence of that tag existed. The first repost was on May 8th, 2023 by user Just Funk Music.
The following reposts were on June 9th by user RareFunkyBoogie, June 16th by user Funk Vaulx En Velin, and on July 2nd by user ENZOFUNK.
In September of 2024, user The4ng31 asked Findi where he got it from. He said the song came from a USB with the filename being “cloudnine_1987”. He posted the original file, but The4ng31guy noticed that FL Studio was in the metadata. Findi responded, saying it was used to “improve the quality” of the song.
On February 8th, 2025, Discord user Rayzox discovered this song, along with Machine, were hoaxes created by Findi and his friends. They found this out after discovering that Findi and his friends were connected to a made-up artist named Raymond Blow, who sang Machine. Findi falsely claimed this song and Machine were unknown songs from the 80s. The vocalist of this song is definitely the same as the female vocalist in Machine. Her identity was revealed to be someone named Moonlace.
