Hip-hop is a music genre that originated in the 1970s in Bronx, New York City, it is characterized by four elements: MCing, DJing, Breakdancing and Graffiti art, it's is defined by rhythmic vocals over a beat, often using samples from other songs/genres, the lyrics often focus on social issues, personal experiences and the struggles of urban life, but can also talk about celebration and success.
