Search History[]

The song was posted to TuneId.com on January 17th, 2018, by user Rik1968, the post said the song was from 1985-1987, and the description said:

“I'm playing my old SA-90 cassettes, mostly recorded from dutch pirate disco/italo radiostations, and trying to id all the songs. I can't find attached song anywhere. Shazam and soundhound return nothing. It's somewhat like a song from the group 'life force' but i don't think this one was done by them.”

On April 21st, 2025, only three days after user Q reposted it, the song was identified by users Sfbeary and SodaRev! as Can The Rhythm by Girl Talk after SodaRev! made a post on a Discogs group asking for the song name, later they found a discogs page of the song.

Lyrics[]

Get your feet, get your feet, get your feet up in the air x5

Get your feet x20

(Rhythm)
(Can the rhythm)
(Can the rhythm help me)
(Rhythm)

(Ah)
(Ah)
(Ah)
(Ah)

I see him so often it’s making me cry
I know I can’t have him right by my side
And I love him so dearly, I need him so
I’m telling you something, I won’t let go

I see him so often it’s making me shake
I got so much love but so little to take
Come on baby, please understand
My love for you, it is driving me mad

Can the rhythm help me put my feet up in the air
Can the rhythm help me dance, I’m dancing everywhere
Can the rhythm help me dance, oh dancing with romance
Can the rhythm help me baby
Can the rhythm

Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah

I want him to love me, but he just don’t
And I want him to need me, but he just won’t
I love him madly, that ain’t a lie
And if I cannot have him, I think I will die

Can the rhythm help me put my feet up in the air
Can the rhythm help me dance, I’m dancing everywhere
Can the rhythm help me dance, oh dancing with romance
Can the rhythm help me baby

Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah

Get your feet, get your feet, get your feet up in the air x8

I see him so often, it’s making me cry
To know I can’t have him, right by my side
And I love him so dearly, I need him so
I’m telling you something, I won’t let go

Can the rhythm help me dance, I’m dancing everywhere
Can the rhythm help me dance, oh dancing with romance
Can the rhythm help me baby

Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah
Oh oh, ah

Can the rhythm help me put my feet up in the air
Can the rhythm help me dance, I’m dancing everywhere
Can the rhythm help me dance, oh dancing with romance
Can the rhythm help me baby

Can the rhythm help me put my feet up in the air
Can the rhythm help me dance, I’m dancing eberywhere
Can the rhythm help me dance, oh dancing with romance
Can the rhythm help me baby
