"Boy" (formerly known as "I Want To Talk" or "Boy") is a formerly unidentified acoustic rock song by Oregon-based musician Life Mine (real name Dan Sloan), the same artist behind Slow Water. It was misattributed as a Deftones song since around 2004.

The song was first posted to YouTube on May 9th, 2011 by Chay in a video titled Deftones - Boy (Acoustic Rarities). No further information was provided aside from it being found on the internet.
On July 17th, 2011, the song was reposted to YouTube by user Jeff Jones, asking who the artist behind the song was. They didn’t provide any information about the song.
In 2021, Jeff came back and said he found the song somewhere online around the time they uploaded it, later saying it was most likely downloaded it off of a peer-to-peer filesharing site.
In 2023, user MistaEgg brought up the possibility of the song being by the same artist as Slow Water, another unidentified song that was misattributed to Deftones, due to the style of the song and the singers’ voices sounding similar.
In September 2024, MistaEgg brought up the possibly of the song being Relapse by Life Mine, which was described as acoustic with Deftones and Tool influences, along with other songs by the singer sounding very similar. In the replies, MistaEgg found out they had a song called Boy, and so the singer Dan Sloan was contacted.
On March 9th, 2025, Dan Sloan confirmed this song and Slow Water were by him and it was identified by MistaEgg, Jacob_, dskx, and AzureBlast as Boy by Life Mine. The song written in 2000 or 2001 when Dan was a senior in high school and he recorded the acoustic version in his dorm room at the University Of Arizona. He eventually uploaded it to Napster' under the name Deftones and Tool to get it more attention.
The following day, Dan posted all Life Mine songs to Bandcamp, including the non-acoustic version of this song and high-quality audio of Slow Water.
