The song was played by DJ Shadow on a Boiler Room set uploaded on June 1st, 2012. The set consisted of songs that DJ Shadow sampled for his 2011 album The Less You Know, the Better; Better Off Dead was sampled in the track "Give Me Back The Nights." The song was also played in a Bristol set in 2011. DJ Shadow himself does not remember anything about the song, but believes it to be a metal album from New Jersey.
The song is believed to have been played on WFMU around May to August of 2005, where the song was played in full and was approximately 6-7 minutes long. It may have been played on a show after Fabio's Strength Through Failure, likely Diane's Kamikaze Fun Machine. However, when Diane was contacted about the song, she said she didn't recognize it.
