Lyrics

Down Wall Street no-one’s dancing, 'cause they haven’t got the time
Everybody’s tryin' to beat that clock
Well, I lost my only money, on the 59th Street Bridge
But I do not feel a poor girl
You might say I’m kind of rich
But I don’t need that money alibi

Why why why?
Why why why?
But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy
Why why why?
Why why why?
Leavin’ the light for the time when they pay me to cry
Tell me why!
Tell me why!
BEAT THAT CLOCK!

Woo-bee-yah-yow
Ba-ba-da-bow
Woo-bee-yah-yow
Ba-ba-da-bow
Ba, ba, ba, ba, bow

Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?

But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy
But I’d probably be a poor girl
When it comes to bank incomes
But I find out it is money
That makes the world go ‘round
And there’s love instead of cash within my eyes

Why why why?
Why why why?
But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy
Why why why?
Why why why?
Leavin’ the light for the time when they pay me to cry
BEAT THAT CLOCK!

Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
Why why why?
But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy
