Gay Fad (previously known as "Back Of His Hand") is a formerly unidentified rock song, recorded in 1999-2000.

History[]

On December 27th, 2023, a snippet was posted onto WatZatSong by user niski, who also provided a Vocaroo link to the full song. On June 22nd, 2024, niski discovered on the other side of the tape (which the song was recorded off) that it was from the Boston College radio WZBC, specifically the "Gull's Window Circus" radio show with DJ Carl Thien (also known as Gullboy) uncut announcements.

On September 26th, 2024, user Sonolux over on the Fond my Mind Discord server stumbled upon a MixCloud post titled "Gull's Window Circus on WZBC from sometime in the 90s" that contained the song playing on the 14-minute mark and Gullboy announcing the title and band on the 37-minute mark. Thus, the song was identified as Gay Fad by Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi.

On September 28th, 2024, it was revealed by niski himself that the song and his other posted songs were hoaxed and the search was staged. It’s possible that Niski got the song from another OP.

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1]
And the creatures when they’re weak
But at a time they learn to speak
And they’re always on time
Except when they’re not on time

[Verse 2]
In the middle of a revelation
Got a lot of sound advice
(Band’s after?) playing from the back of his hands
And the driver let me see inside

[Verse 3]
And they cannot tell a lie
Because you know they’re always right
They are inadequate
They are socially inadequate

[Verse 4]
Well, is it always supposed to remember
I know you’ve told me so many times
Something to say about the way that he said
And the way you remember was right

[Bridge]
(???)
(???)
(???)
(???) new direction!
(???)
(???)
(???)
(???) tell you this!

[Outro]
Always, never, ever, (?), it out, I know, I am
Always, never, ever, (?), it out, I know, I am
