Search History

The song was posted to YouTube on July 7th, 2010 by SraGoofyGrape. The song was labeled as Autobahn by Karate and was downloaded off of Audiogalaxy or Napster sometime between 2000 and 2002. He assumed the song was misattributed to Massachusetts based band Karate.

On November 12th, 2019, the song was posted to YouTube by Luca Ponti. The song was also labeled as Autobahn by Karate, there still wasn’t any proof for or against this though, and it’s likely they got the audio from the original post.

On May 3rd, 2023, Discord user Phenix and band member Daniel Sefbom would identify the song as Autobahn by Rundfunk. Rundfunk was the same band as Karate but renamed.

On June 18th, 2023, HQ audio of the song was found, and on November 5th, 2023, the song was officially posted to Spotify.

Lyrics

I pull up to my shoulders every now and then
No matter how I try I'm always half way there
The roads are empty, trying to avoid [myself]
No matter what I do I'm always halfway there
I envy those who left before I had the chance
Their blissful ignorance will [stay the road more there]

Why would I need another day
I'll try to find another way

It's just I don't know what to do when no one else seems to know it
I'm not your son, [father, it's more frustrating to know that you're my dad]

[Their playful laughs] they keep on rolling over me
All this distance, still I'm always halfway there
In case I had a bad day, know that I can do better
My safe return from heaven [from now on it is down here]
In case I had a bad day, know that I can do better
My safe return from heaven [from now on it is down here]

Why would I need another day
I'll try to find another way

It's just I don't know what to do when no one else seems to know it
I'm not your son, [father, it's more frustrating to know that you're my dad]

I will be alone when it comes
Yet, I'll be here to heal when it comes
Yeah, I'll be taught, the autobahn will be too long
Yeah, I'll be taught, the autobahn will be too long
For the rest of my life I will always strive and drive
For the rest of my life I will always strive and drive
For the rest of my life I will always strive and drive
For the rest of my life I will always strive and drive
For the rest of my life I will always die and die
