On August 14th, 2010, user robert-msk posted the song on WatZatSong. They did not provide a longer snippet, but they said the song was recorded on tape in 1988.
On November 2nd, 2011 and August 23rd, 2020, users derekdark and CarlosG4 reposted the song on website. They most likely got it from the robert's post.
On December 24th, 2013, robert reposted this and many other unidentified songs to AllTheLyrics.
Two days later, YouTuber supernovab17 uploaded the sample robert provided along with the other songs robert linked in their AllTheLyrics post.
On October 10th, 2016, user Pro56 reposted the song and 5 days later placed a € 10 bounty on the songs' solves.
On December 10th, 2021, OP posted the song on Spirit Of Radio with a longer snippet.
On April 21st, 2022, user NanaDensin found on Discogs a song named Astronaut (Big Hullaballoo Mix) by The Davidsons.
User nonoseacrest noticed that The Davidsons were mentioned in the song, meaning this was most likely the correct song.
Nana contacted Discogs users who own the record, but they never replied.[1]
On March 18th, 2023, user BlueyGrifter bought the record, confirming that the song was Astronaut (Big Hullaballoo Mix) by The Davidsons.
