Anchor (formerly known as "Next To Me") is a formerly unidentified lo-fi electronic pop song by South Carolina based musician Satellite Grooves (real name John Kale), released in 2004 on the compilation album "Redder Records Presents Metaphysics for Beginners".

Search history[]

On December 12th, 2024, user MistaEgg posted the song to WatZatSong. He recorded it off of Wisconsin based community radio station WFAQ-LP six days prior.

The song was reuploaded to YouTube two days later by user s2H. In the comments, MistaEgg said the song was incomplete because their player went out and it started playing then it worked again.[1]

On June 14th, 2025, the song was identified by Discord user W3y6 as Anchor by Satellite Grooves, presumably after they bought the compilation.

Lyrics (incomplete)[]

Next to me
[Lies my most hidden] feelings
Those [poor server bow to] my side
The [crisis has a way] with the truth
And anger slips in
And you’re gonna too soon
Too soon

Could you make her
Could you wake her
On my side,
On my side of the sea
Next to me
Could you wake her
Could you wake her
On my side,
On my side of the sea
Next to me
