The song was posted to WatZatSong on November 19th, 2012, by user saf22. All they said was “thanks”, and they didn’t provide any information, nor a longer snippet.

On October 8th, 2024, YouTuber Mike Worst reuploaded the song on his channel, and so did Q on May 10th, 2025.

At first, there was a debate about what the actual title was; it was also thought to be Signs due to the word being said in the song. Eventually, the correct title was confirmed by the band's bassist to be Alien.

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1]
You gotta wear signs
You gotta wear signs for all their worth
And I'll a carry a sign around my nail
I'll carry on
You gotta wear signs
You gotta wear signs for all their worth
And I'll wear your sign around my nail
If you wear my time

[Chorus]
If this is where time have to stop
Then I am sorry, there's no brand on me
On me, yeah

[Verse 2]
You gotta wear signs for all their worth
You gotta wear your time for all you can
Gotta move it on and on and on
Gotta keep track

[Verse 3]
You gotta wear signs
You gotta wear signs for all their worth
And I'll wear your sign around my nail
If you wear my time, my time alone

[Chorus]
If this is where time have to stop
Then I am sorry, there's no brand on me
I've got to a point where life runs deep
They wanna prove it, there's something on me

[Post-Chorus]
Take a look, come on this way
And you will see that we are here to stay
Take a tour, what am I screaming out and out
And now it's fucking time

[Verse 4]
You gotta wear signs
You gotta wear signs for all their worth
And I'll wear your sign around my nail
If you wear my time, my time alone

[Chorus]
If this is where things have to stop
Then I am sorry, there's no brand on me
I've got to a point where life runs deep
They wanna see it, there's something on me

[Post-Chorus]
Take a look, come on this way
You will see that we are here to stay
Take a tour, what am I screaming out and out
And now it's fucking time

Absent Is Back ![]

After more than two decades, Absent is reuniting for a special event titled REUNION: ABSENT, scheduled on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 20:00 at Kafé Hærverk, Hausmanns gate 34, 0182 Oslo, Norway.[1]

Once obscure but widely remembered in Oslo’s underground scene—especially at Pers Pizzapub and Tangensenteret—Absent defied clear genre classification: punk? greenwave? pop? Nobody really knew. After vanishing, the members stayed musically active in bands like Conetik, Pan-Am, The Launderettes, The Graves, The Pumps, Superkings, and That Lonesome Sound.

On March 21, 2025, the band returned to the stage once more, supporting The Oxydants at Enga Pub in Oslo, during the release concert for their album *Let Them Kill Me*. The evening marked another step in Absent’s discreet reappearance.[2]

According to reports, new music is in the works, with the band recently recording at Subsonic Society with producer Anders Møller.

These four members are now ready to give concerts again.

Now, Absent is officially back.
