On May 17th, 2019, the Instituto Piano Brasileiro - IPB channel uploaded an hour-long compilation of old songs, at the 1:22:27 mark, the song began to play, IPB seemingly didn't know the song as they didn't list it with a name. For about 4 years not much happened with the search until a post was made to the Brazilian lost media subreddit by user AyakaDeAgua, saying:

"The Brazilian Unidentified Waltz - Lost Wave"

The post wouldn't get much attention, although it would help further the search to r/Lostwave.

About a year later SkinWalker uploaded the song to YouTube on March 21st, 2024, which got some attention from the lostwave community.

On April 9th, 2024, microgamer2134 identified the song as "Alegria" by Francisco Lima.
