August 2023 - 2024[]

On August 9th, 2023, user 特定ダディー (X: @galdenia19) uploaded a low-quality clip from the film to the Japanese video-sharing website Niconico Douga, titled "ガレオンビデオ マッチョBOXのBGM.mp3" (Gareon Video Macho BOX Background Music.mp3).

Following the circulation of the aforementioned video, the investigation into the song's provenance garnered heightened attention from the INMU community.

After a thorough investigation by the community on Nico Nico Douga, it was determined that the song was taken from the opening theme of the 1994 Japanese homoerotic adult film マッチョBOХ (Macho BOX), which was produced by studio ガレオンビデオ (Gareon Video).

It soon became clear that the remaining songs by BluePleasure were also from Gareon Video films. Eventually it was revealed that Love Tonight song was also used in the movies オークション男1994 (Auction Man) and 奴隷調教地獄絵図1994 (Slave Training Hellscape).

Community from Niconico Douga discovered that other Galleon Video films often use テイチク マルチユースB.G.M.ライブラリー (Teichiku Multi Use BGM Libraries) albums. After examining テイチク マルチユースB.G.M.ライブラリー Vol.24, they identified the song as ムーン・ハンター (Moon Hunter) based on its brief description on the CD: "Guitar, Female Vocals."

The CD containing the song lacked any information other than the following: "Dynamic sound with female rock vocals". However, this identification could not be verified due to the absence of access to the album. A Twitter user who claimed to have a copy of the album posted a video of it playing Moon Hunter.

On May 7th, 2024, user 上澤 published the entire album on YouTube and NND. The author of the song was identified as С. Adamo as stated on the album cover, but the female vocalist was never identified as she was not credited anywhere. This is the only song on the album with vocals.

Leads[]

One of the main clues is the song きままにWith You from Multi Use BGM Library Vol. 13, which features a voice strikingly similar to that of the enigmatic singer from Moon Hunter. A very similar voice is also seen in the song from Vol. 16, “フライデーナイト. It is believed that one session vocalist may have been used for several tracks in Teichiku's stock music catalog during the 90s (1994). Noteworthy that both of these songs are almost entirely copied from (or inspired by) songs by the English band Shakatak (Sunshiny Day & Nights over Tokyo). It is speculated that this singer may be related to Norihito Sumitomo, a rather documented and identified member of the Chris Young Ensemble. Sumitomo's track Three Years of Goodnight from album AMBER SKY bears a vocal and compositional resemblance to Moon Hunter's vocalist, suggesting that he may have collaborated with or written for the same vocalist.

Additional names floated include Kenji Nakagawa and Hideaki Yahagi, both of whom were confirmed contributors to related BGM libraries such as Concert Pine. Yahagi’s “Spirit Eyes” from his 2005 Amandora album is a reworked version of a song found in Multi Use BGM Library Vol. 12, further supporting overlap between libraries and artists. Theories also suggest that aliases like C. Adamo, S. James, Chris Young Ensemble, Gerry Wilson, McCoy Earwood, H. Neibil, G. Forcer and etc. may serve as catch-all pseudonyms for various studio musicians and vocalists, rather than representing single individuals. For instance, “Tapestry,” a song attributed to C. Adamo, has been identified as a song "Woven" by Yuko Matsuzaki. Despite attempts to contact Teichiku and associated artists, responses have been minimal.

Lyrics[]

Babe, tonight I wanna dance with you,
Just like [harmony],
I believe my dreams come true!
Please, come take my hand and hold me tight,
Even on a times like day,
We gotta make love tonight!

Babe, tonight I wanna dance with you,
Just [like harmony],
I believe my dreams come true!
Please, come take my hand and hold me tight,
Even on a times like day,
We gotta make love tonight!
